- A Realistic photo of an example of Model Engineering taken in such a manner as to convey a sense of full size realism. Preferably no humans visible.
(e.g. Steam, electric, diesel, tram, rolling stock, road vehicle, stationary engines, buildings, lineside structures etc.)
- Photos of People which capture a moment of them enjoying involvement in the hobby of Model Engineering.
- Entry open to anyone, maximum of 2 submissions per person per category with a maximum of 3 total per person.
- Photos must be taken by you, or owned by you, and be your property, not copied from elsewhere or previously published, and free of restrictions to use in this competition.
- Maximum of 100 entries total.
- Voting is open to anyone viewing this page, but only one vote per person in each category. Voting opens 15 Sep 2012, closes 15 Nov 2012.
- Digital computer manipulation of photos is prohibited and limited to correction of colour, exposure or similar problem, and removal of "Red Eye" only. Extensive digital image modification or manipulation, or computer generated entries, not permitted.
- Prize will be shipped direct from the sponsor, with shipping via a common carrier, to an Australian or NZ address. Any other or export arrangement is the responsibility of the winners. A substitute prize may be arranged if agreeable by both parties.
- The 5 photos in each category with the highest vote counts when voting closes will become finalists. The winners are selected from the finalists in each category by an expert panel of judges. Winners announced when competition closes on 30 Nov 2012.
- All photos submitted may be used by SMEX or one of the sponsors. You can still use your photos for other purposes, original copyright remains with the photographer.
